Teachers Achievements Acknowledged at 2018 Grand Final
Anne McLeod - 40 years of teaching with the Burns Association
The following teachers were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements:-
Anne McLeod – 40 years of teaching with the Burns Association.
Anne opened the St Peter's Club in 1979. Anne taught the entire club from 1979- 2001, in 2002-2017 Anne taught 5years - 12years and Ladies and in 2018 Anne taught the Juniors and Ladies.
Anne has been a Teachers Delegate for 30 years.
Melissa Wheeler – 15 years of teaching with the Burns Association
Melissa started teaching the Narellan Club Junior in 2004.
In 2010 Melissa started the Douglas Park Club and taught the entire Club until 2014.
In 2015 Melissa taught the Intermediate, Seniors and Ladies at Douglas Park Wilton Club and in 2018 she taught the Senior and Ladies Classes.
Glenda Gaskell – 40 years of teaching with the Burns Association
Glenda Gaskell – 40 years of teaching with the Burns Association
Glenda started teaching the John Warby Club in 1979. In 1984 The John Warby Club combined with the Ruse Club to the Kentlyn Club was started.
Glenda has been a Publicity Officer for 2years, a Teaches Delegate for 5 years and Syllabus Coordinator for 31 years with Jill Russell.
Janene Briggs - Life Membership
in 2018 Life Membership was awarded to Janene Briggs. Janene has been the Secretary/Treasurer of The Association for 20 years, and the Registrar since 2016. Janene started Physie as a 7 year old in 1968 with the Lurnea Club, she was a member of Cartwright, Narellan, Austral and Macarthur Clubs over the years.
In 1997, Janene became a Trainee Instructress, in 1998 - 2000 Janene was the Instructress at the Austral Club.
Janene has also held the position of Teachers Delegate in 1998. Janene is extremely well organised, very thorough and diligent.
